Look at that! Cupra Leon Sportstourer VZ Extreme by Abt
You may have experienced this, dear readers. You see a car on the sidewalk, in the underground parking garage, or in the next lane in such an unusual color that you immediately pull out your phone to take a few pictures. Often, the interior of the vehicle is also so exotic in one way or another that your eyes linger a little longer.
Sometimes you perceive what you have just seen as fantastically beautiful, sometimes also as relatively hideous, but a reaction or feeling is definitely evoked and that is certainly a good thing in the automotive uniformity (don't you agree that our vehicles are looking more and more alike?).
We will report on this at irregular intervals - whenever we discover unusual, unconventional, beautiful or even quite scary color combinations on the street or at driving events.

During the test day for the "German Car of the Year," this garish station wagon caught our eye. To be more precise: the Cupra Leon Sportstourer VZ Extreme with a 2.0 TSI, all-wheel drive, a 7-speed DSG, and 333 hp. Price: over 60,000 euros. For a few more bucks, Abt pumps the powerful station wagon up to 400 hp, or 470 Nm of torque instead of 420. (This approach is already familiar from the Formentor.)
In practice, the interior creaks quite often, and the suspension is tuned to be overly stiff. The huge shift paddles behind the steering wheel are striking. However, things really get going as soon as you press the accelerator pedal to the floor and the full turbo boost kicks in. In this respect, the neon-yellow foiled parts of the body are very helpful.
They're not just meant to warn, but also to signal a collaboration. Starting in 2026, models like the Cupra Leon and the Formentor will receive exclusive treatments from the tuning company Abt. The new versions will be available worldwide and represent the collaboration.

Both new sports models will be designed, developed, and produced at the Martorell plant. These vehicles will be manufactured in Barcelona and available worldwide.
