Fiat 500 Hybrid (2025) Torino: Special model with 65 hp for Italy

Fiat 500 Hybrid (2025) Torino: Special model with 65 hp for Italy

There will soon be a Fiat 500 with a combustion engine again. After the old Cinquecento, dating back to 2007, was discontinued, sales plummeted. So, the decision was made to offer a combustion-engine version alongside the new 500 Electric. This is also intended to boost production at the Mirafiori plant.

Its name is somewhat pretentious, like the Panda/Pandina "Hybrid" and Fiat 500 Hybrid , respectively. However, the short hood houses only a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine with mild hybrid technology. In the 500, it only produces 65 hp, five less than the Panda. To mark the launch, Fiat is launching the special 500 Hybrid Torino model in Italy, which celebrates production at the historic Mirafiori plant in Turin.

The price for the Fiat 500 Hybrid Torino—the top model in the range—is €20,900, while the other versions will be launched later, probably in November 2025. The Fiat 500 Hybrid Torino will be presented to the public for the first time at the 2025 Turin Motor Show from September 26 to 28.

From the outside, the new Fiat 500 Hybrid Torino is recognizable by its two exclusive colors: Yellow Gold and Ocean Green, as well as five other optional colors. The similarities to the electric Fiat 500 are numerous, and in practice, it is only distinguishable by the side badge below the rear window bearing the inscription "500 Torino" and the silhouette of the Mole Antonelliana, one of the most recognizable symbols of the city of Turin.

Of course, the Hybrid logo on the tailgate and the discreet exhaust tailpipe are also included. The interior features exclusive fabric-upholstered seats with the Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino inscription on the backrest, a body-colored dashboard, and a black soft-touch steering wheel. Centrally located beneath the dashboard is the 6-speed gearshift lever with a ball knob like the one in the old 500.

The Fiat 500 Hybrid Torino's quite generous standard equipment includes automatic climate control, keyless entry, cruise control, light and rain sensors, and parking sensors. The central 10.25-inch touchscreen offers DAB radio plus wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Under the hood is the familiar 1.0 FireFly three-cylinder mild-hybrid naturally aspirated 12V petrol engine, which complies with the Euro 6-BIS emissions standard and produces 65 hp, five less than its counterpart in the Fiat Panda. Fuel consumption is 5.0 l/100 km (according to the WLTP cycle) and CO2 emissions are 120 g/km.

As already mentioned, the base list price of the new Fiat 500 Hybrid Torino in Italy is €20,900. However, those who take advantage of the introductory offer with a scrappage bonus and financing options there end up with just €18,950. In Germany , the old combustion-engined 500 last cost €17,450, and the base version of the new model is likely to be in the same range. A Fiat Panda starts at €16,490 in this country.
