Price of iconic used car to skyrocket in 2025 - up £18,000 already

One of the most iconic second-hand petrol cars to ever hit the roads has been tipped to soar in value in 2025, with thousands already added to total costs. The Subaru Impreza P1 cemented its place in the history books in the early noughties and could become the best investment of the year.
Japan's Subaru partnered with British-based Prodrive in the late 1980s as the pair spearheaded an attack on the tough World Rally Championship. The Impreza roared into the scene in 1993 before going on to secure three Drivers Championships and three Constructors titles in a decade of success. Colin McRae, Richard Burns and Petter Solberg all tasted title glory behind the wheel of the Impreza, with the car also picking up 46 rally wins.
After their success, attention turned to the road car with Subaru enlisting Prodrive’s help to build the P1 car specially for the UK market.
Launching back in 2000, just 1,000 units of the iconic rally machine were ever built for consumers.
Experts at WeBuyAnyCar claim that the limited edition model is now worth between £25,000 and £72,500.
Pistonheads has multiple Impreza P1 models advertised on the marketplace, with many examples well over the £45,000 mark.
The Subaru was fitted with a stunning turbocharged 2.0-litre engine capable of top speeds of up to 150mph.
The Impreza was also capable of reaching from 0 to 60mph in just 4.8 seconds, making it an instant favourite among petrolheads.
The P1 was also fitted with special seats as well as 17-inch wheels and Pirelli P-Zero tyres that helped distinguish it from standard Impreza machines.
Owners are now enjoying the benefits, with experts claiming models have already massively increased in their validation over the past couple of years.
WeBuyAnyCar said: “Market data shows that a P1 in excellent condition was worth around £32,000 in September 2022. Just two years later, resale value leapt to £50,500 – and may grow even more in the near future.”
The car sales experts put the Impreza on the very top of their list of vehicles they believe could rise in value over the course of 2025.
