Elliott posted a time of just 0.669 seconds behind pole winner Denny Hamlin!William Byron was the fastest car in Saturday’s NASCAR Cup Series practice at Pocono Raceway. Byron and the No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports team, who also lead the championship point standings, clocked in at 170.759mph. Later during qualifying for tomorrow’s Great American Getaway 400, Byron lost control through the Tunnel Turn, spinning out and slamming the inside wall hard. After posting the fastest time in practice, he will now be forced to go to a backup car for the race.A frustrated Bubba Wallace is seen here in the Pocono Garage after having engine trouble before qualifying today. Wallace had the 2nd fastest car during practice for the Great American Getaway 400, but when it came time to qualify his car would not start. That meant Wallace didn’t even get a chance to make a lap, ruining what would’ve been a solid shot at sitting on the front row in Pennsylvania. Now, he’ll have to start from the back of the pack.Time trial results for tomorrow’s Great American Getaway 400 at Pocono Raceway. Denny Hamlin claimed the top spot, followed by Chris Buescher P2, Carson Hocevar P3, John Hunter Nemechek P4 and rounding out the top five is the General, Cole Custer.
