Louis-Philippe Dumoulin Aims for a Third NASCAR Canada Victory at GP3R

Trois-Rivières (Quebec), August 6, 2025 – Just one week after the race at Autodrome Chaudière in Vallée-Jonction, the NASCAR Canada Series presents its most popular event of the season this weekend, the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières. For this 55th edition of the GP3R, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin and the entire #47 WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare | Omnifab team will be performing in front of their home crowd, aiming for a third NASCAR Canada victory on this temporary street circuit.
“After two consecutive podiums in July, the race at Autodrome Chaudière in Vallée-Jonction didn’t go our way. Right from practice, a transmission seal started leaking and, in the race, another transmission issue forced me back to the paddock for repairs, costing us about fifteen laps,” said Louis-Philippe Dumoulin about last Saturday’s oval event, where he finished 13th.
Watch the entire Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres, including the NASCAR Canada Series race, LIVE on SPEED SPORT 1 beginning Friday at 4:30pm ET.Now, attention turns to the highly anticipated Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières. For the three-time NASCAR Canada champion: “Earning a third win at this event behind the wheel of the #47 WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare | Omnifab car is my main goal. But the GP3R is always a tough race, full of uncertainties. Sometimes it runs without a single yellow flag and becomes an all-out sprint; other times there are so many full course cautions that the final result is almost a lottery. You must adapt to every situation, but the crowd is so enthusiastic, the fans so passionate at GP3R, that it’s always an incredible experience for us drivers to compete here.”
Dumoulin is the local favorite, hailing from Trois-Rivières along with his brother Jean-François, who will also be on track in NASCAR Canada with Dumoulin Compétition’s #04 car. “Aside from Sunday’s race, we invite all fans to join us for the parade downtown followed by the display at the Trois-Rivières port on Thursday evening. On Friday, team haulers will be open in the afternoon, and I encourage the public to come meet us. The NASCAR paddock is always welcoming, and spectators — adults and kids alike — are always invited,” said Dumoulin.

“We want to have a strong second half of the season. The GP3R marks the start of that, and everything is still possible to score wins and finish high in the championship. The series is so competitive that even the slightest problem in one race can drop you a position or two in the standings, but nothing is lost for us,” concluded the #47 WeatherTech Canada | Groupe Bellemare | Omnifab driver, currently fifth in the standings, just 17 points off the lead.
NASCAR Canada drivers will hit the track Saturday starting at noon for 70 minutes of practice. Qualifying will take place later that day, starting at 4:50 p.m. On Sunday, the 60-lap race is scheduled to start at 1:18 p.m.
