Tesla's 5-year lie has been revealed!

Tesla's 5-year lie has been revealed!

Allegations have surfaced in the US that Tesla concealed critical data related to a 2019 crash in Florida that killed a pedestrian. The company was found partially liable in a wrongful death lawsuit but maintained it lacked the crash records. According to The Washington Post, a hacker managed to recover the allegedly missing data from the vehicle's memory.

During the court proceedings, Tesla was asked to provide a "crash recording," which includes data from the vehicle's cameras and sensors immediately before and after the crash. However, Tesla claimed that the recording was marked to be automatically deleted from the vehicle's memory after it was uploaded to the company's servers after the crash.

TESLA INTENTIONALLY DELETED

According to the report, a Tesla employee deliberately deleted the copy from the company's central database. When police forwarded the crashed vehicle's multimedia system and Autopilot unit to Tesla technicians for review, the local recording was deemed unrecoverable.

HACKER REVEALED

However, a hacker acting on social media realized that the data was still in the vehicle and resurfaced the crash recording.

TESLA SAID "WE LOST"

Tesla, in its defense, claimed in court that it didn't store the data but lost it. One of the company's lawyers, Joel Smith, described Tesla's data management practices as "inept."

Smith said at the hearing, "We didn't think we had it, but then we found out we did. It's a good thing it was found, because it's a really valuable piece of information."
