Nigerian engineer Abubakar develops device that allows vehicles to run on water

Nigerian engineer Abubakar develops device that allows vehicles to run on water

The device, installed in the vehicle's engine, converts water into hydrogen gas through electrolysis. This allows the vehicle to run entirely on hydrogen or in conjunction with fuel, providing lower costs, longer engine life, and fewer emissions.

The device developed by Abubakar for vehicles is compatible with both gasoline and diesel vehicles.

The system improves engine performance, reduces emissions and extends engine life.

Abubakar, who continues his work in his own workshop in Kaduna state, made statements about the device he developed and his dreams.

Abubakar stated that he had been interested in developing things since his childhood and that his childhood dream turned into technology.

Abubakar, who studied coding and programming but trained himself in mechanical engineering, said he has designed various machines, including a plastic processing machine, to date.

Abubakar emphasized that he was seeking solutions to rising fuel prices and environmental pollution in Nigeria.

Abubakar said that after a research and trial process that lasted approximately eight months, he developed a special design similar to an HHO generator based on the principle of water electrolysis for vehicles, and noted the following:

"This device converts water into hydrogen and oxygen gas, enabling it to be used for combustion in engines. Thus, vehicles can either run entirely on water or become more efficient with existing fuel."

Abubakar explained that the device failed many times during the development process but he did not give up.

Abubakar, who stated that he used entirely domestic materials in the device he developed, said, "The biggest challenge in this process was safety. You have to be very careful when working with gas, but I didn't have professional safety equipment. Despite this, I continued working."

Abubakar noted that the vehicle can travel up to 1,500 kilometers on a single charge, adding that this invention offers an important alternative for cost-conscious drivers.

Pointing out that natural gas and coal prices rise from time to time in Nigeria, Abubakar stated that in his first designs, he developed stoves that work with used motor oil, and that neighborhood residents showed great interest in these products.

Abubakar, however, said that he focused on the HHO generator due to rising fuel prices, saying, "Fuel is very expensive today. I run my car on water and don't spend money on fuel. My dream is to see water-powered cars all over the country in the future."

Nigeria Imports Processed Fuel

Nigeria, one of the world's largest oil producers, has rich underground resources, but fuel prices in the country pose a serious problem for the public.

Due to the lack of sufficient refinery capacity to process petroleum products, Nigeria imports large quantities of processed fuel.

This situation both increases costs and increases the burden on the public, especially in the transportation sector.

Rising energy costs and environmental problems across Africa make innovative solutions even more valuable.
