Kept in a garage for 44 years: Fiat-licensed Zastava sold for 15,000 euros

Kept in a garage for 44 years: Fiat-licensed Zastava sold for 15,000 euros
COMPLETELY ORIGINAL

With only 23,000 kilometers covered, this Zastava 1100 has survived to the present day in its completely original condition, without any modifications over the years.

Its paint, upholstery, engine and interior parts defy time, just like the first day.

SOLD FOR 15,000 EUROS

Thanks to its long-term protection, the vehicle was protected from rot, rust and deformation and was sold to its new owner for 15 thousand Euros.

"IN THE GARAGE FOR 44 YEARS"

Abidin Bostancı, stating that the vehicle came to Türkiye in 1981, said, "It went into the garage right after it came from Germany. It was used here a couple of times, but after that, it remained in the garage. It's been in the garage for 44 years, but it looks spotless. It's very durable."

Bostancı said the vehicle was unique in Türkiye and not available in Europe.

"TO BE EXHIBITED AT FAIRS"

The new owner of the vehicle, Muhammet Kaya, stated that he had been trying to buy the vehicle for 4 years and that he bought it for 15 thousand Euros.

Kaya emphasized that the Zastava 1100 will be exhibited at fairs, saying, "The current cost is at least 5,000 euros. We've been promised two or three fairs after that. Hopefully, after it undergoes inspection, it will enter the Istanbul fair. Our goal is to take the vehicle to fairs abroad. After that, it will remain on our counter as a souvenir."

"NO WEAR"

"The car is as we expected, pristine," Kaya said, adding, "I didn't think it was this original either. It's completely original. The chrome is completely intact, there's no wear and tear. It's in the same condition today as it was when it was put there. Now it'll go to the Fiat dealership in Esenyurt, Istanbul, for repairs. Then it'll be moved to Kapaklı. We'll preserve it at our company in Kapaklı. From there, we'll take it to the fairs."
