Is there a Special Consumption Tax (SCT) discount for vehicles over 20 years old? Which vehicles are covered? New support regulation for domestic car purchases

With the bill submitted to the Turkish Grand National Assembly and the Ministry of Industry and Technology's "My First Car: A Domestic Car Family Support Program," citizens who scrap their old vehicles and want to buy a domestically produced car will be able to have long-term and affordable payment opportunities.

A DOMESTIC CAR WITHOUT SCT FOR VEHICLE OWNERS OVER 20 YEARS OF AGE

Within the scope of the proposal, the SCT exemption to be provided to vehicle owners aged 20 and over ;

• To reduce environmental pollution,

• Increasing traffic safety,

• Supporting domestic automotive production,

• It is aimed to contribute to the economy by recycling scrap vehicles.

Şevkin also emphasized that increasing recycling activities could create new job opportunities and strengthen the circular economy model .

If the proposed law becomes law, the Special Consumption Tax (SCT) exemption will apply to domestically produced vehicles in Turkey. These domestically produced vehicles include:

• Fiat Egea

• Ford Transit and Transit Custom

• Hyundai i10 , Hyundai i20 , Hyundai Bayon

• Mitsubishi Colt

• Renault Clio , Renault Megane Sedan

• Toyota C-HR , Toyota Corolla

• Togg T10X and the new sedan model T10F
