Best of the first 6 months in automotive industry

Türkiye's total automobile and light commercial vehicle market increased by 5.2 percent in the first 6 months of 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 607,977 units.

In the same period, automobile sales increased by 5.4 percent to 488,003 units.

Vehicles in the A, B and C segments constituted 81.1 percent of the market. C segment automobiles were again at the top with a 55.1 percent share with 268,817 units.

When looked at according to body types, the top remained the same. The most preferred models were SUVs, with a share of 62.8 percent and reaching 306,286 units.

BEST SELLING SUV MODELS

The best-selling SUV model in the first half of 2025 with 18,292 units BYD's Seal U model was the first. Togg T10X came in second with 17,101 units, while Fiat Egea Cross came in third with 12,822 units sold.

BEST SELLING SUV BRANDS

When we look at the brands, Volkswagen is at the top with 30,007 SUV sales. Peugeot is next with 28,755 and BYD with 21,840 sales.

In the first 6 months, gasoline car sales took a 47 percent share with 229,128 units, hybrids took a 27 percent share with 131,686 units, electrics took a 17.6 percent share with 85,894 units and diesel cars took a 7.8 percent share with 38,073 units.

In the January-June period, electric car sales increased by 138.4 percent to 84,956.

When we look at June alone, electric car sales surpassed hybrids for the first time. While 25,828 electric cars were sold in June, hybrid sales were 22,506.

TOGG IS THE LEADER IN 6-MONTH SALES

Togg is the leader with sales of 17,101 units in the first 6 months of the year. Following Togg, Tesla is second with 12,320 units and BYD is third with 10,401 units.

When we look at June alone, we see that Tesla has made a splash with its new Model 3 Juniper. Tesla ranked first with 7,235 units sold, BYD ranked second with 3,361 units, and Togg ranked third with 3,098 units sold.

When we look at total sales, Renault is the brand that sold the most in the first month of the automobile market with 54,502 units. Toyota is second with 36,495 units, and Volkswagen is third with 36,334 units. When we look at June alone, the list is positioned as Renault, Volkswagen, Tesla, BYD and Fiat.
