The Russian representative office of Mercedes-Benz has begun sales of the updated coupe-like CLS sedan, which was presented in April of this year.
As RBC reminds us, the updated model can be distinguished from its predecessor by its upgraded radiator grille, modified front bumper with differently shaped air intakes and chrome silver splitter. The car's interior now features a new multifunctional steering wheel trimmed in Nappa leather and touch panels.
In Russia, this model will be available in the CLS 350 d 4Matic versions with a 2.9-liter diesel engine with a capacity of 249 horsepower and the top version of the Mercedes-AMG CLS 53 4Matic+ with a 435-horsepower gasoline engine with a volume of 3.0 liters. The diesel CLS with an engine accelerates from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.7 seconds, and the AMG version needs 4.5 seconds, writes Motor.ru . The starting price of these versions is from 7.2 million and 8.53 million rubles, respectively.
The list of electronic assistants available to owners of the updated CLS includes adaptive cruise control, which can automatically resume movement after a complete stop if its time does not exceed one minute. The driver also has access to the blind spot monitoring function, the system for keeping the car in the occupied lane, and also all-round cameras with increased coverage.
Let us recall that in April, Mercedes-Benzpresented the EQS electric sedan, which its creators position as an alternative to the S-Class model with internal combustion engines. The Mercedes-Benz EQS is based on the concept car of the same name, which was presented in 2019 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. A distinctive feature of the production version of the electric car was the drag coefficient of 0.2.
The length of the EQS is 5265 mm, and in this indicator the electric car is comparable to the new S-Class with an extended wheelbase. Like the S-Class, the electric car received a chassis with a rear wheel steering function, which provides increased stability at high speed and increases maneuverability at low speed. The Mercedes-Benz EQS in the basic version is driven by a single electric motor with a capacity of 331 horsepower, which accelerates the car from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 6.2 seconds. Also, the EQS will receive a version with two motors with a capacity of 524 horsepower, which can accelerate to "hundreds" in 4.3 seconds.
