The company "SUBARU MOTOR" (the official representative of the Subaru brand on the Russian market) announced the recall in Russia of over 7.2 thousand cars of two models.
"7,248 vehicles, Subaru XV (G5) and Forester (S5), manufactured between 2017 and 2019 with VIN codes according to the appendix are subject to recall. Reasons for recalling vehicles: during vehicle operation, the rear stabilizer bracket bolts may loosen, which may cause abnormal noise. If the vehicle continues to be used, the bolt may fall out, and the bracket itself may begin to move freely while driving. In the worst case, it may damage surrounding parts, such as the brake pipe, drive shaft or subframe," the Rosstandart website reports.
As part of the recall campaign, dealers will inform owners of cars subject to recall about the need to provide the vehicle to the nearest dealership for repair work. Owners can also independently check the VIN codes of their cars against the Rosstandart list and make an appointment with the dealer. In addition, you can find out whether a car is included in the recall program using a special service on the Auto.ru website.
All vehicles will have their rear stabilizer bracket bolts checked and tightened. If any bolts are missing, new bolts will be installed. All work will be free for vehicle owners.
Last week it became known that Rosstandart approved the new interstate standard GOST 34725-2021 "Recall of automotive products. Guide for manufacturers, suppliers and sellers" as a national standard of the Russian Federation.
The GOST announced in 2020 states that the recall of vehicles is initiated if the product does not comply with established legislative requirements, as well as based on an assessment of the risk associated with its use. The standard was developed taking into account the global practice of recall campaigns in the automotive industry and the experience of Rosstandart in conducting supervisory activities in the automotive market.
Developed by FSUE "NAMI" within the framework of the activities of the interstate technical committee for standardization "Road Transport" (MTK 056), it will come into force on November 30, 2021, with the right of early application. Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have joined the new standard.
