The Volvo V90 has said goodbye for good . The last unit of the Swedish van, with its black bodywork, was completed last week at the Torslanda plant in Sweden. There is no direct successor planned.
At the beginning of September, the press department had already confirmed to Auto ao Minuto that the model would no longer be produced that month, including the Cross Country variant.
At the time, the Swedish manufacturer clarified that "the decision was taken in accordance with cycle plans".
According to Motor1.com, the last V90 to roll off the assembly line went to the Volvo Heritage Collection at the World of Volvo located in central Gothenburg.
The current generation of the Volvo V90 arrived in 2017, after being unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show the previous year. It followed the S90 sedan and was a midsize luxury station wagon.
Throughout its life, it was available with gasoline, diesel, and hybrid powertrains (plug-in hybrid and mild hybrid, the latter introduced in 2022). More than 240,000 units were produced over nearly a decade.
