Officially launched in April 2023, the BYD Seagull has already recorded more than one million sales - making it the biggest commercial success in China.
According to Car News China, the Chinese electric car brand announced on June 6 that the Seagull had surpassed one million sales - after finishing May with a cumulative total of 993,000.
In China, this electric model costs around 8,065 euros , but last month it dropped to 6,764 euros in flash sales in China. The car is available in the Vitality (305 km of autonomy in CLTC cycle), Freedom (305 km) and Flying (405 km) variants.
About the size of a Fiat 500e, the BYD Seagull is in Europe and the UK as the Dolphin Surf - although it is slightly larger than the Chinese variant.
Prices in Portugal start at 16,980 euros , only during the launch campaign. The variants are Active (220 km of autonomy), Boost (322 km of autonomy) and Comfort (the autonomy goes up to 310 km, with the maximum power of 156 hp available).
The car has 30 kWh or 43.2 kWh batteries, and in urban environments the autonomy can exceed 500 km.
Inside, the car has a digital cockpit, seven-inch instrument panel, 10.1-inch rotating touchscreen, multifunction steering wheel in vegan leather and a boot with a capacity of 308 liters (or 1,037 liters if the rear seats are folded down).
