Gasoline 95, 98, simple or additive. Which one to use in your car?

Gasoline influences the performance of your car's engine , so the type of fuel to use is not irrelevant nor does it depend on the question of 'cheapest/most expensive'.
95 gasoline has 95 octane and is cheaper, while 98 has 98 octane and can theoretically perform better . The price difference can be considerable, around 20 cents per liter.
Octane differentiates the two most common gasoline variants at gas stations – higher octane, lower compression resistance and, consequently, better car performance, according to Galp.
You should always choose the fuel recommended by the vehicle manufacturer . As a general rule, a petrol vehicle can use any variant, but in some cases 98 petrol is specifically recommended – especially for engines with larger displacement and performance. However, for city and urban cars, Galp recommends 95 petrol.
Additive or simple?
There are simple and additive gasolines. The additives are more expensive, but they can even mean savings: according to Caetano Retail, the additives in 98 gasoline allow it to last longer. In addition, the additives protect the engine against corrosion and the accumulation of impurities.
Conversely, a DECO study carried out in 2012 showed that there were no significant differences in the condition of the inside of the engine and the tank, as well as in terms of consumption and pollutant emissions.
In short, the choice of gasoline type depends on the manufacturer's recommendations and/or what you want to prioritize between performance, monetary savings and preserving the integrity of the car.
