Former Premier League footballer's scrapped Ferrari was up for sale

In December of last year, Michail Antonio narrowly survived a serious car accident. The former West Ham player suffered a broken femur , while his Ferrari GTC4 Lusso was destroyed.

Almost a year after the incident, the car was briefly listed for sale on eBay . According to The Sun, the listing listed it as a car for parts or repairs, with a price of £44,995 (approximately €51,800) . When purchased, it reportedly cost around €300,000.

In it, accompanied by images, one could read the reference to "unrecovered accident damage" and the absence of insurance claims filed.

Michail Antonio was "close to dying"

A few months after the accident, Michail Antonio told the BBC that police found him between the two front seats, with a badly broken leg.

The footballer believes he was given another chance at life and that he was "close to dying." His femur was fractured in four different places.

This was the second accident he had suffered with a supercar, after having been involved in one with a Lamborghini in 2019. The traumatic experience now keeps him away from sports cars: "For now, I'm going to stay away from sports cars," he told the BBC in that interview dated March.

At 35 years old, Michail Antonio faces some uncertainty regarding his future. In the summer, he was released by West Ham, where he had been since the 2015/2016 season. That summer, he played in the Gold Cup for Jamaica, marking his return to the highest level of football.

Almost 700 hp of power

The Ferrari GTC4 Lusso is a luxury supercar from the Italian brand. It features a V12 engine producing up to 690 hp, mated to a seven-speed F1 DCT transmission. Its top speed is 335 km/h (218 mph), and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 3.4 seconds.

The car seats up to four people and is a coupe with several aerodynamic elements in its exterior design - including the rear spoiler and the louvres in the air intakes behind the front wheels.
