Do you remember the 'old' Beetle? Leiria and ACP celebrate its 90th anniversary

People of all generations, whether car enthusiasts or not, know the Volkswagen Beetle – one of the most legendary models of all time. And its 90th anniversary will be celebrated at the Beetle Fest.

In an event organized by the Automóvel Club de Portugal (ACP), on June 28th the city of Leiria opens the doors of the Jardim da Almuinha Grande to owners of a Beetle – regardless of the year. Hundreds of people and cars are expected to attend.

The program includes, among other attractions, a vehicle exhibition, discussions about the legendary model and even themed parades and artistic interventions developed by students from the Escola Superior de Artes e Design – who transform some Beetles into works of art.

Anyone wishing to participate with their VW Beetle must register by June 25th through Ticketline, for a fee that will be fully reimbursed via fuel vouchers. The general public will be able to enter for free.
