Cupra Terramar. The modest SUV in which Rashford arrived in Barcelona

One of Barcelona 's most notable signings for the new football season is Marcus Rashford . The British forward arrived at the training center this Friday in a car that turned heads... but not because it was extravagant.

Images posted on social media show the British player arriving at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper in a modest Cupra Terramar. It's worth noting that last May, the car brand and the club announced a partnership, under which the first team and coaching staff received various Cupra models .

The Cupra Terramar is an SUV available in Portugal in mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions (the more expensive, costing around €56,635). The mild hybrid has a 150 hp eTSI gasoline engine. The plug-in hybrid reaches 272 hp with a 1.5 TSI engine. The all-electric range reaches 121 km in WLTP cycle, but this engine is only available in the VZ variant. The transmission is a six-speed DSG automatic.

From a Lamborghini to a Cupra

This is a much more modest car than the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ that Marcus Rashford used to drive around Manchester.

According to The Sun newspaper, the footballer sold it to a rally driver for £450,000 ( around €515,000 at the current exchange rate) after receiving a six-month suspended driving ban for speeding.

This doesn't mean that Marcus Rashford has stopped owning luxury and high-performance cars. The infraction that led to the sanction was reportedly committed in his Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
