The lpenglow. This is Alpine's supercar concept, with which the Renault Group brand is determined to take on Ferrari and its SF90 Stradale.
The French did not do anything less, as their CEO Philippe Krief (who worked at Ferrari when the SF90 Stradale was developed...) made clear: “ We are not selling electric cars . We are selling sports cars, exciting cars, exclusive cars”, he said, quoted by Autocar.
The concept includes a conventional 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine and two electric motors on the front wheels. The set, with an architecture closer to that of the Lamborghini Revuelto V12, guarantees all-wheel drive, with the combustion engine delivering 740 hp of power, but in total 1,000 hp are put on the asphalt .
There are three hydrogen tanks located on the sides and behind the cabin, meaning Alpine is already thinking about a future without fossil fuels.
Alpine is designing a supercar weighing less than 1,600 kg. It will be developed at the Hypertech Alpine R&D division in Viry-Châtillon.
