Toyota Yaris Cross: What equipment will the hybrid SUV arriving in November have and how much fuel will it consume?

The Toyota Yaris Cross is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated models for this year in Argentina and the region. It will be produced in Brazil, and the Japanese brand has already confirmed that its local market launch will take place on November 27th .
However, there isn't much more official information about the new compact SUV. But information is slowly starting to trickle out in the neighboring country, revealing many of its features.
The Brazilian site Carros na Web has just published what appears to be the Yaris Cross catalog, with all its features , including equipment levels and technical details.
And while this doesn't mean the models arriving in Argentina will have the same configuration, it does provide an indication of what the local market can offer. Furthermore, considering the current model ranges available in both countries, the differences are minimal.
Thus, more details are beginning to emerge about a model that is initially expected to be in high demand . This assumption was made by the president of Toyota Argentina himself, who speculated that there will be a waiting list during the first months of sales.
The Toyota Yaris Cross will arrive in November.
According to information published in the neighboring country, the Yaris Cross range sold in Brazil will consist of three versions that will be produced at the Japanese brand's manufacturing center in Sorocaba, São Paulo, in a new production facility next to the existing factory.
This range will be comprised of two engine configurations. One will be a gasoline engine, with a 1.5-liter, 106-horsepower engine (an evolution of the same engine found in the Yaris), which will be paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with seven simulated gears.
The published documents also reveal a torque of 140 Nm. It reaches a top speed of 170 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 13 seconds. The declared fuel consumption is 8.3 l/100 km in the city and 7.7 l/100 km on the highway. The fuel tank of these versions has a capacity of 42 liters.
The Toyota Yaris Cross will be imported from Brazil.
The other propulsion option will be hybrid and will have a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine (Atkinson cycle) with 92 hp and 120 Nm of torque, associated with an 80 hp and 141 Nm electric motor, generating a combined power of 115 hp .
In this case, fuel consumption is 5.2 l/100 km in the city and 6.2 l/100 km on the highway . The fuel tank, in this case, is smaller, with a capacity of 36 liters.
The published dimensions are practically identical to those announced when the model was first unveiled in Indonesia in 2023. Measuring 4,310 mm long, with a 2,620 mm wheelbase, 1,770 mm wide, and almost 1,620 mm tall, the Yaris Cross will be similar in size to its main rivals. The advantage could lie in its trunk capacity, which is claimed to be 471 Dm3.
The Toyota Yaris Cross will be able to make a difference with the capacity of its trunk.
In terms of equipment, three levels are revealed: XS, XLS, and XLS Hybrid . The first will include elements such as six airbags, a rearview camera with parking sensors, stability and traction controls, LED headlights, tire pressure monitoring, lane departure and forward collision warning, with autonomous emergency braking and four-wheel disc brakes.
The list is completed with air conditioning, a height- and depth-adjustable steering wheel, a split-folding rear seat, 17-inch wheels, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and a multimedia center, among the most notable features.
The XLS version adds front parking sensors, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic air conditioning with rear seat air vents, center armrest, power-folding mirrors, automatic wipers, leather seats with power adjustment for the driver, 18-inch wheels, onboard Wi-Fi and a wireless cell phone charger, among others.
Finally, the XLS Hybrid version will add 360-degree vision cameras, high-beam assist, an electric panoramic roof, a start-stop system, and an electric trunk lid.
