The German camper and motorhome specialist Sunlight, part of the prestigious Hymer Group, has unveiled its latest offering, the Ibex. This 4x4 offers a sense of freedom with a compact design and maximum comfort, while also meeting all the basic needs of its occupants.

The vehicle is designed for explorers looking to get off the beaten track and discover new territory. Built on the Volkswagen Crafter chassis, the Ibex includes an automatic transmission. Sunlight has incorporated a new, much higher GRP roof, increasing interior living space and giving it a more robust exterior appearance.

While the full spec list hasn't been made public yet as this is still a concept version, some elements are known, such as an integrated light bar, beadlock wheels with off-road tires, raised suspension, a snorkel, a rear rack, a Thule awning, and exterior graphics for intrepid adventurers.

The cabin features a dinette designed primarily for two people (as the front seats don't swivel), an in-cabin storage compartment for large items, a kitchenette, a fixed bedroom in the rear, and a convenient bathroom opposite the kitchen.

Sunlight has opted for a cozy, earthy interior, with an abundance of felt trim, marble-effect panels, and soft lighting. Functionality is a priority, so numerous storage solutions are offered with the clear goal of avoiding any sense of clutter.

Continuing with the interior features, it's worth noting the presence of a medium-sized refrigerator, a two-burner stovetop, and a sink in the kitchen. There's also a cassette toilet, a shower, and a sink with a pull-out faucet in the bathroom, not to mention the aforementioned double bed located in the rear of the vehicle.

Since the Ibex prototype is still under development, the capacity of the water tanks and the specific heating, air conditioning, and solar panel systems are still unknown. However, given that Sunlight prioritizes off-grid travel, there's no doubt the Ibex will include everything necessary to enjoy this type of journey.

If this versatile and adventurous camper has caught your attention, you can see its concept version in action in the video accompanying this article.
