The northern Spanish city that will ban unmarked cars from entering its LEZ

On June 16, Santander City Council presented the final project for implementing its Low Emission Zone , which will be operational by 2026 , the deadline set by the State after several extensions.
Specifically, the Cantabrian capital will establish its LEZ in the Ensanche area, with a perimeter of 2.5 km , but it will only be active Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. For now, the future regulations that will establish the ordinance governing the LEZ, once in force, will not allow access to vehicles without the right to a DGT sticker , that is, gasoline vehicles registered before 2001 and diesel vehicles registered before 2006, with several exceptions.
Which vehicles without a DGT sticker will still be able to enter?Once the LEZ comes into force, expected in December of this year, resident vehicles will still be able to access it, even if they do not have the DGT environmental sticker . However, they must notify it and register on the council's website .
Likewise, unmarked vehicles heading to any of the underground parking lots located within the Low Emission Zone will be permitted to enter. On the other hand, vehicles for people with reduced mobility, essential service vehicles, or school transportation vehicles will be able to enter without restrictions even if they do not comply with LEZ regulations .
Where is the Santander LEZ located?
Specifically, the perimeter that delimits the Low Emission Zone includes Paseo de Pereda, Calle Calvo Sotelo, C/Lealtad, C/Rualasal, C/San José, C/Sevilla, C/Guevara, C/Santa Lucía, Paseo Menéndez Pelayo, C/Sol, C/San Emeterio and C/Casimiro Sainz.
In addition, the Santander City Council will install a total of 22 cameras at the entrances and exits of the LEZ, capable of reading vehicle license plates.
In the case of the Cantabrian region, only Santander and Torrelavega are required to have a Low Emission Zone, as they have more than 50,000 inhabitants.
In the case of the latter, the Torrelavega council began penalizing vehicles without an environmental sticker on June 10th . However, its ordinance also includes exceptions for entering this area with an unmarked vehicle.
