Chirey arrived in Mexico in 2022 with its first models, the Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro Max. After three years on the Mexican market, both vehicles received significant updates to stay current, and in August, it was the Tiggo 7's turn, now in its PHEV version.
Tania Sotres, Head of Product at Chirey Motor México, spoke to Reforma Automotriz about the brand's new mobility offering in our country.
"A lesson we've learned is to anticipate what might happen," Tania Sotres, Head of Product at Chirey Motor México.
The ultra-durable battery is IP68 certified.
Regarding performance, Sotres explained that: "The magic is achieved thanks to the combination of the engine and its ultra-durable lithium ferrophosphate battery, which achieves a combined range of 1,200 km, which translates into significant fuel savings," he said.
As a second aspect, its equipment includes a 24.6-inch dual HD screen, a 540-degree camera, and a 50W wireless charger.
And thirdly, she highlighted the safety, commenting that this model "has a reinforced structure that can withstand 1,500 megapascals of impact and a steel battery that can withstand 780 megapascals, dust, high temperatures and even water, as it can be submerged just over 1 meter for 48 hours," commented Head of Product Chirey.
In terms of safety, this model includes 7 airbags, 16 ADAS and ABS brakes.
Regarding the tests carried out to determine the safety of this battery, Tania Sotres explained that: "It has been subjected to various tests. In China, it was perforated to verify its safety; in Mexico, its resistance to rough roads and potholes was tested; and soon in Brazil, a car will be launched from a 30-meter platform to verify the safety inside the cabin." She indicated.
The sales target for the Tiggo 7 PHEV CSH is 100 units per month.
Finally, Tania Sotres concluded by saying: "As a brand, we have gained experience and have technicians, certified in China, who know how to assemble a hybrid vehicle and who, in turn, can train the entire network two months before each launch to meet demand. In addition, we have 10,000 square meters of spare parts and a guaranteed stock of 1.5 months."
