The award-winning electric bike that lets you carry two children safely or all the cargo you need.

Elias Juarez
In recent years, electric cargo bikes have gone from being a rarity to becoming a real alternative to private cars in many areas of our continent, especially in urban environments. Among the models that are paving the way toward more efficient and sustainable mobility, the new Rehwald Cargo E-Bike stands out.
This is a proposal from Germany that not only surprises with its design, but also with its ambition. It aims to be a transportation solution capable of replacing the car for many daily trips.

Manufactured by Rehwald Products GmbH, this new electric bike has been awarded the prestigious iF Design Gold Award, a recognition awarded only to the most innovative products of the year. Its modular design, applied technology, and remarkable focus on passenger safety place it at the forefront of electric cargo bikes.
The heart of the Rehwald's design is a capsule-like structure, mounted on an aluminum frame and with a cargo capacity of 270 liters, designed for everything and everyone. This cabin is made of high-strength polyethylene, with rounded edges that absorb impacts and reduce risks in the event of an accident.
It is available in four different colors (beige, anthracite gray, military green, and red), and features weather-resistant paint. One of its most notable features is its child protection system, which includes a safety arch that protects the neck and head, along with integrated harnesses. Furthermore, the design allows for various configurations to transport cargo, pets, or even convert it into a family version.

Mechanically, the Rehwald is powered by a Shimano Steps E6100 electric motor with 60 Nm of torque, enough to nimbly move heavy loads through city streets and on slopes. The electric-assist speed is limited to 25 km/h, and the motor is powered by a 630 Wh battery.
The drivetrain is powered by a Gates CDX belt, which replaces the traditional chain and offers a cleaner, quieter, and virtually maintenance-free solution. This system is complemented by a Nexus Di2 internal shifter, also from Shimano, which allows for automatic, adaptive shifting based on riding style.

The equipment includes details such as cargo-specific Schwalbe tires, four-piston hydraulic brakes, integrated LED lighting, and an app that allows you to manage key functions, including anti-theft protection.

All this technology at the service of the user comes at a price that isn't exactly cheap. The most basic model of the bike starts at 6,800 euros, while the family version goes up to 7,000 euros. The most complete configuration, designed for transporting pets, reaches 8,350 euros. There's no doubt that the Rehwald represents a different and more sustainable vision of how to move efficiently around the city.
