Only €34,500? This is the incredible price of the innovative Chinese camper van.

The revolutionary Chinese brand Maxus , which has been selling vehicles in Spain since 2021, has launched this camper van under the name Maxus Traveler RV Life Fun Edition , offering an affordable price of just 34,500 euros. However, this isn't the first time they've made a significant entrance into the camper van market.
The introduction of the Maxus RG20 and Maxus RV90 B models already marked a significant impact on the Chinese market. For now, this innovative and powerful camper-based vehicle with a 177-hp engine hasn't hit Spanish roads, but if we do see it in the future, it won't be rare.
What features does this camper have? The Maxus Traveler RV Life Fun Edition is a mid-size van powered by a SAIC two-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel engine. It also features an automatic truck bed and an optional parking assist function.
In terms of dimensions, it's a 5.54-meter-long vehicle that can be configured with four or five seats, depending on your preference. It also comes with a living room-kitchen with an oven, microwave, and sink —everything you need for a comfortable stay.
How much does it cost to convert a van?
The cost of adapting a car for sleeping or traveling can vary considerably depending on the size of the vehicle , the type of installation, and the materials used, whether purchased or recycled (for example, if you already have a mattress instead of buying a new one). In either case, the final cost will depend on the quality of the products chosen.
In Spain, and according to current market prices, the estimated average expenditure would be as follows:
- Car mattress : €90-100
- Wood panels : around €50 per square meter, with a total cost of around €100
- Portable kitchen : €50
- Compressor refrigerator : €300
- Homologation : between €500 and €1,200
According to the Traffic Law approved in March 2022, overnight stays on public roads are not prohibited , provided the vehicle is properly parked. This means that, in general, you can spend the night anywhere in Spain, except in natural parks and other protected areas where it is expressly prohibited.
However, during overnight stays, it is not permitted to deploy items that extend beyond the perimeter of the vehicle, such as awnings, camping chairs, or stabilizing legs. Furthermore, some municipal ordinances may restrict or prohibit this practice, allowing it only in specific RV areas. Therefore, it is advisable to check local regulations before parking for the night.
