Nico Hulkenberg takes his first podium; McLaren takes 1-2

Silverstone once again demonstrated why it is the cathedral of world motorsport. Under a climate as unpredictable as it was demanding, the British Grand Prix delivered a chaotic, exciting, and unexpected race, marked by Lando Norris' victory, McLaren's 1-2 finish, and, above all, Nico Hülkenberg's first career podium finish after 239 Grands Prix.

What seemed like a controlled day for Max Verstappen, who started from pole, quickly unraveled. A spin, caused by the wet asphalt, sent him to the middle of the pack. The Dutchman tried to make a comeback, but could only cross the finish line in a modest fifth place.

The glory stayed at home. Lando Norris, flawless from start to finish, took advantage of the mistakes of others, tire degradation, and the chaos on the track to take the victory in front of his fans. He didn't falter, not even in the early sunshine, nor in the storm that drenched the track mid-race, nor in the final laps when the asphalt began to dry. It was his day.

Oscar Piastri crossed the line in second, consolidating a 1-2 lead for McLaren. The Australian, the championship leader, was unable to fight for victory due to a 10-second penalty after braking abruptly under the safety car, endangering Verstappen.

But the big story was Nico Hülkenberg's . Starting from second-to-last place, the German Kick Sauber veteran was as consistent as he was brave. In a race where many lost their heads, he kept his cool. He withstood the final pressure from Lewis Hamilton and took a well-deserved third place: his first podium in Formula 1 after more than a decade of fighting. .

Charles Leclerc suffered a strategic disaster with Ferrari: they opted for slicks on the opening lap, sending him to the back of the field. Colapinto, Lawson, Bortoleto, Hadjar, and Antonelli retired that day.
