Elon Musk's split with Donald Trump has a payoff: Tesla sales in Spain soar in early June.

Elon Musk's split with Donald Trump has a payoff: Tesla sales in Spain soar in early June.

Donald Trump's relationship with Elon Musk has been a key focus of the first months of the US administration. The businessman and the president displayed a seemingly unwavering complicity.

However, when the Tesla owner's term ended after 130 days, the backlash began on both sides. Musk went so far as to claim that Trump was on the Epstein list, a set of names allegedly suspected of abusing minors on a private island.

Possible change in sales trend

The South African-born magnate's involvement in the government was a severe blow to the electric vehicle company, both in terms of its image and sales. But this could begin to change.

So far in June, Tesla vehicle registrations in Spain have increased by up to 80%. Nearly 900 new vehicles were delivered during this period, with the Model 3 and Model Y being the most notable.

This figure reduces the year-on-year sales decline to 11% compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 5,428 registered cars in the first months of 2025. Tesla is beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel, at least in Spain.
