Speed Triple 1200 RS 2025: Triumph's naked sports bike becomes even more extreme

Speed Triple 1200 RS 2025: Triumph's naked sports bike becomes even more extreme
The heart of the new RS remains the well-known 1,160 cc three-cylinder engine , updated to offer 183 hp (+3 hp) and 128 Nm of torque (+3 Nm), with a more immediate and linear response at medium revs.
  • Euro 5+ standard and revised mappings
  • More immediate acceleration and direct connection between gas and rear wheel
  • Unmistakable sound and character of the English three-cylinder
For the first time, the Speed Triple 1200 RS features Öhlins semi-active electronic suspension managed by the SMart EC 3.0 system, capable of dynamically adapting to the riding style.
  • Öhlins NIX30 fork at the front
  • Rear mono TTX36 , also semi-active
  • Simplified adjustments for road and track
The 2025 RS electronics package is expanded, offering features of a true modern superbike:
  • Front Wheel Lift Control separate from Traction Control
  • Adjustable Engine Braking Control
  • Brake Slide Control for braking control
  • Cruise Control for long journeys
  • Marzocchi steering damper for greater stability
With a kerb weight of 199 kg , the RS 2025 is one of the lightest naked bikes in its category. The braking system is entrusted to racing components:
  • Brembo Stylema calipers with 320mm discs
  • RCS radial pump for powerful and modulable braking
  • Responsive but stable chassis , perfect even for rapid changes of direction
Triumph has revised the ergonomics of the Speed Triple to offer greater control without sacrificing sportiness:
  • New handlebars 18mm higher and 7mm wider
  • Saddle and footpegs unchanged, but the footpegs are a bit low for the track
  • More natural and relaxed riding position for road riding
During the test in Portugal, the new Speed Triple RS demonstrated a great balance between sportiness and ease of use:
  • In Rain mode : power reduced to 100 hp for safety on wet surfaces
  • In Sport mode : thrilling thrust from 3,000 rpm
  • On the track : precise chassis, but low footpegs and front end feeling that can be improved with custom settings
Lift control is effective in the more permissive modes, but the power cut can be a bit abrupt in the conservative settings. The quickshifter on downshifts is fast, but sometimes breaks the fluidity. The new RS is a technological, powerful and precise sports naked . Perfect on the road, fun on the track. It has no aerodynamic protection, but its aggressive style and maxi-roadster performance make it irresistible.
  • Unmistakable British design
  • Extremely high driving pleasure
  • With adjustable footpegs and a smoother quickshifter , it would be pretty much perfect.
