Omoda & Jaecoo launch Super Hybrid offensive for their SUV range

Omoda & Jaecoo launch Super Hybrid offensive for their SUV range

MILAN – There are at least four valid reasons justifying the party organized by Omoda&Jaecoo at Alcatraz in Milan, a venue usually reserved for concerts and DJ sets in Milan's nightlife scene.

The first is the Omoda 5 SHS-H full hybrid SUV, which leverages the new SHS (Super Hybrid System) ecosystem from the Chery Group automaker. It is equipped with a 1,500 cc Miller cycle gasoline engine and two electric motors powered by a 1.8 kWh battery. The system thus delivers a combined maximum power of 224 horsepower while maintaining economy-level fuel consumption (5.3 l/100 km). The Omoda 5 SHS-H, which arrives on the Italian market at the end of the month, is offered in two different trim levels: Pure, which starts at €28,500, and Premium, which starts at €31,600. The two versions feature particularly substantial standard equipment in line with the Chinese brand's policy, complemented by the latest-generation ADAS, a 12.3" dual digital display, and Apple and Android Auto. This version also maintains the Omoda & Jaecoo tradition of offering their models significant range. Here we are at 900 km.

The second reason is the Jaecoo 5 SHS-H, the compact full hybrid SUV that will arrive in Italy at the end of 2025. Today, the Jaecoo 5 is already available in the Ice and Bev versions. Prices for the SHS-H version will be announced soon.

Commercially positioned between the B and C SUV segments, the 4.4-meter-long Jaecoo 5 SHS-H offers three different powertrain options. The aforementioned 1.5-liter petrol engine, 100% electric powertrain, and finally the Full Hybrid version that uses the SHS-H architecture. The Full Hybrid combines the 4-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor, the DHT 150 transmission (another key element) for a total power output of 143 horsepower from the combustion engine and 204 horsepower from the electric motor.

The third reason that made the Alcatraz evening a success is the Omoda 7 SHS-P: an elegant and high-performance plug-in hybrid SUV. The Omoda 7, which will be available on the market in 2026, offers a highly distinctive aesthetic language featuring a distinctive front end and sharp lines that evoke tension and dynamism. The wedge-shaped profile, flush windows, and deliberately minimalist details contribute significantly to the car's appearance, giving it an almost futuristic look. It's no coincidence that Omoda & Jaecoo call it a "work of art in motion." The passenger compartment is equally impressive, offering plenty of space, comfort, and clearly hi-tech solutions, such as the 15.6" screen that slides toward the passenger, a club-quality Hi-Fi system with 12 speakers, and double-glazed windows that create a truly intimate environment. Added to this are the ventilated leather sports seats, which perfectly define the pleasure of sitting behind the wheel of this car.

The fourth and final (but not least) reason for interest is the flagship of the Jaecoo range, the 8 SHS-P. This is also a generously sized SUV that perfectly combines elegance and power. At over 4.8 meters long, the Jaecoo 8 SHS-P can accommodate up to 7 passengers thanks to the third row of removable seats, or, if necessary, reduce the number of passengers and increase the volume to over 2 cubic meters.

of the trunk. Equipped with all-wheel drive, the Jaecoo 8 has the cabin many desire. Nappa leather seats, a dual 12.3" curved screen, multi-zone climate control, a 14-speaker Sony-designed Audi system, and a host of other small but pleasant conveniences. These include soundproof windows, 10 airbags, and 19 ADAS systems that contribute significantly to active safety. Finally, the CDC suspension, which self-adjusts thanks to 15 sensors operating simultaneously and ensuring maximum grip on any type of road or off-road surface.
