New Kia EV9 GT: the 508 HP, all-wheel drive electric SUV debuts in Italy

With 508 horsepower, explosive torque, and a range of over 500 kilometers, Kia's new electric flagship promises to rewrite the balance in the premium segment. Not just impressive numbers, but also an exclusive design, advanced technological content, and versatility capable of convincing those seeking the best in every area.
The EV9 GT features AWD all-wheel drive, a prompt and precise response to driver input, ECS electronic suspension for maximum comfort and, for the first time on a Kia, the Road Preview System, a technology that reads the road surface through a video camera and anticipates potholes and bumps to adjust the vehicle's trim in real time. The result is a driving experience that doesn't disappoint: 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and surprising dynamic behavior for a car of this size.
On the aesthetic front, the GT touch is immediately evident. The 21-inch alloy wheels with an exclusive design, the neon green brake calipers and the dedicated stylistic details leave no room for doubt: this is a true sports car disguised as an SUV. The interior is even more refined, with sports seats upholstered in Alcantara, suede and eco-leather finishes, and a GT steering wheel with dedicated controls that transmits a racing car feeling to the driver.
Speaking of driving, the Kia EV9 GT offers a full range of modes: Normal, Eco, Sport, My Drive, Terrain and even a specific Snow Mode to tackle the most treacherous surfaces. The beating heart, however, remains the green GT button on the steering wheel: with a simple press, the car unleashes all its grit, also thanks to the Virtual Gear Shift with steering wheel controls and Active Sound Design, which realistically simulates the sound of a sports automatic transmission, creating an immersive experience.
Kia Connect offers Wi-Fi-based OTA updates and remote management of functions such as cabin pre-heating and charging scheduling. On board, three panoramic displays and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility ensure a seamless, complete and cable-free interface. The 99.8 kWh battery supports 800V ultra-fast charging, with 10 to 80 per cent charge in just 24 minutes. And with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, the EV9 GT can power external devices on the move.
Space and functionality remain strong points: seven seats in three rows, high habitability even for rear passengers and a towing capacity of 2,500 kg. The GT-Line MY26 version, already available to order since July, is also available in a six-seater configuration, with a price list starting from 83,500 euros. For the pure GT version, however, 90,500 euros are needed, a price that places the model at the heart of the high-end zero-emissions offer.
The EV9 GT is more than just a styling exercise or performance upgrade. It is the tangible symbol of an ambitious industrial strategy: Kia aims to market 11 electric vehicles by 2026 and 15 models by 2027, to reach a 100% electric range in Europe by 2035. And the new GT is just the first taste of this vision.
