At IAA Mobility 2025, Cupra is unveiling a true preview of its future. The new Cupra Tindaya , a show car named after a volcanic mountain on the Canary Island of Fuerteventura, officially debuts. This project is of paramount importance for the brand, reflecting Cupra's vision and design language for the coming years. Let's find out all the details.

A revolution

Tindaya, as highlighted by the company, offers the evocative character of the mountain from which it takes its name and its design is based on the idea “ No Driver, No Cupra ”, which underlines the great attention towards the driver and the user experience.

The new show car features an illuminated logo. The front end displays what the brand calls a "shark nose," flanked by aerodynamic keels that guide airflow toward the side intakes. The side view also highlights a "pushing forward" stance and the sculpted body shapes, while at the front, a sharp line runs from the front bumper along the entire side, all the way to the rear, where we find a double spoiler. This solution translates into an interesting combination of a shooting brake profile and fastback lines, for a mix that enhances sportiness and elegance.

The cockpit was also developed following the “No Driver, No Cupra” concept, placing the driver at the center of the development, with a design inspired by motorsports and designed to integrate the most advanced technologies. At the center is the Driver Axis, which includes the 24-inch display. The steering wheel, on the other hand, is inspired by racing but also gaming, with several buttons for total control. The cockpit features a 2+2 configuration , with true sedan-style doors and CUP Bucket seats. There's also an audio system created in collaboration with Sennheiser. Considering both the interior and exterior, Cupra clarifies how the Tindaya manages to stay true to the brand's DNA by offering a " muscular, emotional and technological design ." Also noteworthy is the careful choice of materials and colors.

The concept has a matte body color, but the hue changes from front to rear, shifting from a deep gray to a pale beige. The roof features 3D-printed aluminum structural parts. Inside, the seats and center console are upholstered in sustainable bio-attributed leather, and bronze-colored waxed microfiber completes the design. There's also room for " The Jewel ," a glass prism that represents a sensorial connection between driver and car. This element clarifies Tindaya's character as a show car, but also confirms the model's aim to create a close relationship with those who get behind the wheel.

The focus is on the driver

Markus Haupt, interim CEO of Cupra, commented on the debut of the new Tindaya, highlighting the aim of satisfying the driver's needs:

The CUPRA Tindaya showcar is not a dream, nor even an ambition. This is our CUPRA statement, and it will become reality. At a time when many are distancing themselves from the driver, we continue to focus on what matters most: the connection behind the wheel. Our focus will always be on the emotion and pleasure of driving.
