Mechanic hit head-on by tire

This week, an unusual incident occurred during the NASCAR race at Pocono Raceway in Blakeslee, Pennsylvania. During a pit stop, JP Kealey, a member of Shane Van Gisbergen's Trackhozuse Racing team, was violently struck by a tire.

The accident was caused by the arrival of another driver, who bumped into a Trackhozuse Racing mechanic who was carrying the tire. The driver, who lost his balance, let the tire fly off, ending his race on JP Kealey.

Kealey, who was hit in the chest, completed his task before remaining on the ground and being treated by his colleagues. He was taken to hospital with fractured ribs and a partially collapsed lung.
