Used car sales had their best April in 30 years: which were the 10 best-selling models?

Used car sales broke all records in April, registering the best figures since 1995, the year statistical records began.
The Chamber of Automotive Commerce (CCA) reported that 158,960 used vehicles were sold last month, representing a growth of 16.69% compared to 2024 (136,230 units) and 11.6% compared to March.
In turn, transfers in the first four months reached 620,383 units , an increase of 33.54% compared to the same period in 2024 (464,562 vehicles).
"We've just finished the best April since monthly records for used car sales began nationwide, and the interior is becoming the engine driving sales numbers upward," said Alejandro Lamas, secretary of the CCA.
Reference values for May rose by up to 10% compared to April.
The CCA report determines that La Rioja (71.87%), Chaco (68.02%) and Formosa (67.50%) were the provinces that grew the most in the first four months compared to 2024.
While the province of Buenos Aires continues to lead the ranking of operations (235,301 transfers), followed by Córdoba (73,548) and the City of Buenos Aires (56,288).
The CCA also emphasized that the lifting of the restrictions has had a particular impact on the car trade, leading to a more normal and transparent situation. They hope that "financing plans can continue to accommodate rates downward."
While the replacement car market is experiencing sustained growth, we'll have to wait and see what happens in May, the first month of the year in which reference price lists saw increases of up to 10% .
In the first four months of the year, 620,383 vehicle transfers were recorded, 33.5% more than in 2024.
"If we continue along this path, expectations remain very positive," Lamas concluded.
The Volkswagen Gol has once again become the favorite of the aftermarket, holding the lead for at least the past 10 years. A total of 8,784 units of the model were sold, which was discontinued as a brand new model in early 2022 .
Toyota Hilux leads the way among used pickups.
The podium remained unchanged from March. In second place was the Toyota Hilux , also the best-selling pickup among the new generation. The truck, produced in Zárate, Buenos Aires province, registered 6,206 sales.
While the Chevrolet Corsa/Classic —another model discontinued years ago—occupied third place with 4,901 sales. The Corsa, along with the Gol, Fiat Palio, Ford Ka, and Peugeot 208, are the most affordable options among the most sought-after vehicles.
