To the moon 18,000 times: there are now 599,000 electrified cars in Spain.

The population of Malaga. That's the number of electrified cars—plug-in hybrids and pure electrics—on Spanish roads. This is enough to prevent 600,000 tons of CO2 from being released into the atmosphere and travel 7.207 billion kilometers per year.
Although they still represent a small part of the total—the Spanish fleet has around 31 million active vehicles—electric vehicles have positioned themselves as the growth driver for manufacturers in European markets, and their impact is beginning to be felt in air quality and the number of charging stations.
According to Driveco, a company specializing in electric charging stations, these trips saved 370 million liters of gasoline. The distance traveled by all these cars would allow them to go to the Moon 18,700 times.
The electric vehicle promotion association, Aedive, states that there are already 43,500 charging points in operation in Spain, but many drivers are still skeptical about taking long-distance trips in an electric car.
The reality for this typically includes at least three charges: one before leaving, one halfway through, and one upon arrival at your destination. More and more electric cars come with a route planner built into their navigation systems, but it's always a good idea to check apps to compare prices and distances.
