This is the Seal 6 DM-i, BYD's new plug-in hybrid that will challenge its rivals.

BYD continues to strengthen its European offensive with the launch of the Seal 6 DM-i, its second plug-in hybrid (PHEV) in the European market, following the successful Seal, which has already sold more than one million units globally.

It shares the advanced Dual Mode technology of its predecessor, but with a lower body that improves efficiency and an aesthetic inspired by the design language of its latest models, with flowing lines and optimized aerodynamics.

The new model measures 4,840 millimeters long, 1,875 millimeters wide, and 1,495 millimeters high , with a generous wheelbase of 2,790 millimeters , higher than the segment average. Its front end stands out for its minimalist active grille , chrome details, and full-LED headlights with a crystal-inspired signature. In profile, the 18-inch wheels reinforce its dynamic character, while at the rear we find Matrix-LED lights.

As we mentioned before, the Touring version is BYD's first wagon in Europe. It maintains the sedan's length, but slightly increases its height to 1,505 millimeters . It offers a leading trunk capacity : 500 liters up to the floor, 675 liters up to the roof, and up to 1,535 liters with the rear seats folded down (40:60).

Range of up to 1,505 kilometers

The heart of the Seal 6 DM-i is the efficient Dual Mode plug-in hybrid system, which allows it to run as a pure electric vehicle or combine both engines to maximize range. The entry-level Boost version features a 10.08 kWh LFP Blade battery , producing 184 hp, 55 kilometers in zero-emission mode , and a combined range of up to 1,505 kilometers WLTP .

The second option , with the Comfort trim, increases power to 212 hp and the battery to 19 kWh , offering up to 105 kilometers in 100% electric mode (100 kilometers in the Touring) and a total range of 1,455 kilometers in the sedan. Furthermore, as is evident, both versions bear the DGT's CERO label.

But despite its efficient approach, the Seal 6 DM-i offers outstanding performance: 0-100 km/h in less than 9 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h . It also features V2L (Vehicle to Load), which allows it to power external devices with up to 3.3 kW .

Inside the cabin, the immersive design combines high-quality materials and cutting-edge technology. Highlights include the BYD-signature 15.6-inch rotating center display, 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and four USB-C ports.
