The robust and versatile electric mountain bike that keeps the Bianchi essence alive

Martí Figueras
Bianchi is no newcomer to the two-wheeled world. Founded in Milan in 1885, it's one of the oldest bicycle brands in the world and has been linked to competitive cycling for over a century. Its distinctive sky-blue color and unmistakable Italian style have accompanied generations of cyclists, from Fausto Coppi to modern racers. But even a brand with such a long history has had to adapt to changing times, and in the midst of the boom in the electric sector, it has also opted for e-bikes .
Its range of electric mountain bikes has been expanded in 2025 with the new E-Vertic FX, a full-suspension trail bike featuring a Bosch motor, increased range, and a frame optimized for summer getaways on trails, paths, and technical descents. This bike is designed to offer an ideal balance of power, stability, and versatility, capable of handling any terrain with ease without sacrificing comfort.

The E Vertic FX is powered by the Performance Line CX motor, known for its power and reliability in the e-MTB world. It offers a maximum torque of 85 Nm, expandable to 100 Nm via software update, and delivers up to 600 W of power, enough to tackle demanding climbs and maintain a good pace on technical terrain.
The 800 Wh Powertube battery guarantees a real-world range of up to 100 km, ideal for long journeys without worrying about charging, and can be complemented with a 250 Wh extension cable for the more adventurous.
The aluminum frame has been redesigned using topological optimization techniques to reduce weight without sacrificing stiffness. The geometry has been fine-tuned to improve stability and maneuverability, with a 64.5-degree head angle for improved control on technical descents. The suspension offers 150 mm of travel in the front fork and 140 mm in the rear shock, designed to absorb terrain irregularities and maintain traction at all times.
In terms of components, the E Vertic FX comes in two main versions. The 9.2 features a RockShox Psylo Silver RC fork, a SRAM SX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain, and SRAM DB4 four-piston brakes, along with Pirelli Scorpion 29x2.6-inch tires mounted on Velomann rims. The 9.1 upgrades to a RockShox Lyrik fork and a color Bosch Kiox 300 display, at a slightly higher price.

Available in sizes ranging from S to XL and in two main colors, Aqua Green with Celeste details and Graphite combined with Silver Gray, the bike maintains Bianchi's classic aesthetic identity, but with a modern and functional touch that makes it suitable for all types of routes.
Although it's not a budget bike—prices start at €5,449 for the 9.2 version and go up to €5,849 for the 9.1—the package it offers is designed for those looking for something more than a typical electric mountain bike. It's not an ultralight or a radical enduro bike, but rather a balanced, robust, and versatile trail bike that you can ride, ride, and enjoy without worrying about the terrain or the distance.
A solid option for those who want to make the most of summer on two wheels, and do so with a brand that has been pedaling for 140 years.
