Alpine returns to the Goodwood Festival of Speed to celebrate its 70th anniversary

Alpine returns to the Goodwood Festival of Speed to celebrate its 70th anniversary

Alpine returns to the Goodwood Festival of Speed with the world premiere of the A290 Rallye, the first dynamic UK appearance of the Alpenglow Hy6 with its hydrogen V6 engine, plus the spectacular A110 R Ultime and the upcoming A390 sports fastback.

The event is part of the French sports car brand's 70th anniversary celebrations. Visitors to Goodwood will be able to enjoy daily hill climbs by the BWT Alpine Formula One Team, the A290 (European Car of the Year 2025), and the A110.

A290 Rallye – The A290's competition version will be the center of attention on its public debut. Equipped with a full roll cage and motorsport-derived technical modifications, it will make its first dynamic appearance on the famous Goodwood hillclimb.

Unveiled last week at the service park of the Rallye Rouergue Rodez Aveyron Occitanie, it sports a sporty livery designed by the Alpine design team. Its white wheels and dynamic aesthetic reflect its competitive aspirations, as Raphael Linari, Head of Motorsport Design, explains: "It's the Alpine A290 in sportswear, with a style designed to convey lightness, simplicity, and efficiency."

The Alpenglow Hy6, a hydrogen concept car unveiled at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, will also be at the event. This model offers a glimpse into Alpine's exciting future in motorsport. Powered by a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, it delivers 740 hp, compared to 340 hp for the original four-cylinder model. This rolling laboratory combines environmental innovation and sportiness, paving the way for the decarbonization of sports cars, and incorporates design elements that anticipate future Alpine projects.

The A110 R Ultime will complete the brand's track presence at this iconic event. Designed to represent the A110 in all its glory, it features 345 hp, 420 Nm of torque, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.8 seconds, achieving an estimated 20-second improvement on the Nürburgring Nordschleife compared to the A110 R.

Presented in May in Dieppe, the historic birthplace of the brand founded in 1955, the A390 will be another major attraction. Alpine's first five-seat sport fastback, it is designed to offer the agility and driving pleasure of the A110. It recently completed its final dynamic testing at the high-tech facilities of the Michelin Ladoux Technology Center in Auvergne. There, it joins the current range with the electric A290 and A110, both offering the performance and agility that characterize Alpine's sporting heritage.

Alpine will be participating in the First Glance, New Classics, and Supercar demonstrations throughout the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where the A110 R Ultime will face the clock.
