In the following lines, we'll focus specifically on parking spaces, which have seen a significant increase in price in recent years and, in some parts of the Iberian Peninsula, are now approaching prices closer to those of a home than a regular parking space.
On Idealista , a real estate rental and buying and selling website, an ad has recently been published that has caused a stir among website users. Why? Well, the reason is this: "A parking space is for sale for 180,000 euros in La Llotja, Palma de Mallorca."
"Large parking space with 18 m2 built according to the land registry, and a usable area of 11.22 m2 in a private parking lot with very easy access, next to Avenida Jaume III, and opposite El Corte Inglés. This space can be used to park large cars, such as the Mercedes GLA or Porsche Cayenne, among others. Unique opportunity ," reads the advertisement on the website of the aforementioned platform.
The controversial parking space is located in Palma de Mallorca , specifically in the Jaume III neighborhood. As the user himself points out on Idealista, it is a "large car space" and has approximately "18 square meters," of which "11.2 are usable." The current asking price is around €185,000 , an unusual figure that is closer to a home than a regular parking lot.
If we compare the price of this property with a home in, for example, the Salamanca neighborhood of Madrid, the price per square meter of a parking space rises to more than 10,300 euros , while that of a home in one of the most powerful neighborhoods of the Spanish capital is around 9,000 euros.
Unfortunately, these types of ads are repeated over and over again over time. €98,000, €90,000, €45,000, €74,500, or even €425,000, among others, are some of the listings we can see on the aforementioned buying and selling portal.
