Chinese cars are going electric: three new models arrive in the country tariff-free.

Great Wall Motors , the Chinese car brand represented in our country by the Antelo Group (Car One), presented three models that will be available in the local market starting in June.

These are hybrid versions of the already well-known Haval H6 and Haval Jolion , and the new Ora 3 , a compact with fully electric propulsion. The arrival of these models had been anticipated in 2024 with coverage by Clarín .

These models will not be subject to the 35% import tariff imposed on any model entering the country that was manufactured in a market outside the zone.

This benefit applies to vehicles with an FOB price of less than $16,000. This acronym stands for "Free On Board" and represents the value of the merchandise or product placed on board a maritime transport. Import duties and taxes from each country must be added to this value.

Three electrified proposals

Great Wall Motors (GWM) has been present in Argentina since 2018, when the Antelo Group began selling the Haval SUV and the Wingle and Poer pickup trucks. It currently has a network of 18 dealerships spread across the country, which will soon expand with new openings in Greater Buenos Aires, Mar del Plata, Bahía Blanca, Neuquén, Catamarca, Mendoza, and Rosario.

The Ora 3 features an adjustable regeneration system, one-pedal driving, and multiple driving modes (Standard, ECO, Sport, Auto, and ECO+). The top speed is limited to 160 km/h, and the combined fuel consumption is 16.7 kWh/100 km.

The transmission is a two-speed automatic called DHT that performs three functions: transmitting motion directly to the wheels, recharging the hybrid system's battery, and, in high torque demand conditions, assisting the combustion engine by generating additional torque.

The H6 HEV measures 4.68 meters long, 1.89 meters wide, 1.73 meters high, and has a wheelbase of 2.74 meters. The trunk has a capacity of 407 liters (which can be expanded to 1,445 liters by folding down the seats).
