Seat celebrates 75 years of history with a unique exhibition at Automobile Barcelona.

On May 9 , 1950 , a story began that would transform mobility in Spain : SEAT was born . Today, 75 years later, the company celebrates its anniversary by reaffirming its commitment to innovation, industry, and electrification. To commemorate these seven and a half decades on wheels, SEAT SA has organized a historic exhibition in Barcelona's Plaza Univers, which can be visited from May 10 to 18 at the Automobile Barcelona 2025 show.
75 years in 75 carsThe exhibition will bring together 75 iconic vehicles that represent the company's evolution from its origins to its vision of the future. From the Seat 1400 , the first model produced in 1953 , to the Cupra Raval, a 100% electric city car that will be manufactured in Martorell from 2026 , to popular legends such as the Seat 600 , the Ibiza, and the León. A visual and emotional look back at a history that has accompanied millions of Spaniards, generation after generation.
Casa Seat will also celebrate it
The exhibition won't be the only commemorative event. Casa Seat will also join the celebration on May 10th with a program open to the public that will include historic vehicles, interactive activities, gastronomic experiences, and a special running session through the streets of Barcelona. In addition, the company has planned a special meeting with its employees to pay tribute to those who have shaped this history from the inside out.
From Spain to the worldFrom those first five vehicles a day manufactured in the Zona Franca (Free Trade Zone) to the 2,300 cars that today leave Martorell (a plant covering more than 2.8 million square meters) every day, Seat has produced more than 20.5 million vehicles. With three production centers in Spain, it is the only company that designs, develops, manufactures, and markets automobiles entirely in our country.

Over the years, the brand has been a key player in the country's industrial transformation, leading investment in R&D and generating an impact close to 1% of Spain's GDP.
Beyond cars, Seat SA has also made history by investing in talent: from its Apprenticeship School, founded in 1957 , to its largest training plan today, with 170,000 hours in 2024 alone. All of this without forgetting its social dimension, as demonstrated during the pandemic by converting production lines to manufacture respirators or by promoting social initiatives through the Seat Cupra Foundation.

SEAT has been part of the country's emotional and cultural landscape, accompanying generations on their daily journeys, and now, 75 years later, it's stepping on the gas toward a more sustainable, digital, and connected future. Because, as they themselves affirm, their story doesn't end here: there are still many miles to go.
