S10 Z71 Launch: What's the New Chevrolet Truck with Sporty Style?

S10 Z71 Launch: What's the New Chevrolet Truck with Sporty Style?

Last year, Chevrolet announced a complete overhaul of its pickup lineup. Its new Montana , which arrived in 2023, was set to be joined by refreshes for the S10 and Silverado. Now, the brand with the bow tie is expanding its midsize pickup lineup with a new version.

This is the new S10 Z71 , a version that retains the mechanical power of this truck and adds a sportier and more striking aesthetic proposal.

Manufactured in Brazil, the S10 has so far been offered in three distinct trim levels: the WorkTruck options, designed for work use; the LTZ , located at the heart of the range; and the High Country , the most well-equipped of the family.

With the launch of the Z71, Chevrolet is strengthening its range with a striking version and a proposal that, in terms of equipment and price, places it in the middle of the S10 range.

In this way, the line now has 6 versions: WT MT 4x2, WT MT 4x4, WT AT 4x4, Z71 AT 4x4, LTZ AT 4x4 and High Country AT 4x4, all equipped with the proven 2.8-liter Duramax turbodiesel engine with 207 hp and 510 Nm of torque .

According to Chevrolet, the S10 Z71 4x4 AT is inspired by the American-market Colorado pickup truck, which was designed to highlight the model's key attributes in terms of design and sporty aesthetics, which among pickups translates into an off-road spirit and the ability to tackle any road and surface.

The exterior design of the new Chevrolet S10 Z71 features exclusive sporty details , such as the extended San Antonio bar, black running boards, and “Z71” emblems on the sides of the bed and on the front.

To accentuate its off-road aesthetic, the model includes black mirrors, grille, and exterior door handles, along with darkened headlights and LED DRLs. This black finish on the grille also changes the truck's appearance and contrasts with the versions that feature a chrome grille. It also features exclusive 18" alloy wheels.

The safety features of all versions include driver assistance systems (ADAS), which are now standard. These include autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, and cross-traffic alert, among others.

This version also includes the OnStar system , which expands connectivity options, whether through native Wi-Fi with a more stable signal, or through remote updates of electronic systems, and through the app that controls vehicle functions remotely.
