Record used car sales: the 10 most sought-after models in June

Used car sales continue to break records. According to reports from the Chamber of Automotive Commerce (CCA), 143,191 sales were recorded last month, representing a year-over-year increase of 15.59% and the best June in the last 10 years , despite a slight 7.5% decline compared to May (154,830 units).
The sector anticipates that if the trend continues, the year could close with around 1,800,000 transactions , which would equal the record set in 2013.
Sales for the first six months of 2025 totaled 918,404 units , an increase of 24.21% compared to the same period in 2024 (739,398 vehicles).
"We've reached a historic first half of the year, with used vehicle sales figures at their highest on record, the first being in 1995, 30 years ago," said Alejandro Lamas, secretary of the CCA.
As usual, the VW Gol once again led the second-hand market.
Lamas emphasized that "exchange rate and price stability, along with a greater product offering and aggressive trade policies on the part of terminals and importers, fuel the virtuous cycle in which this segment of the national economy finds itself."
However, he also emphasized that the proportion of financed transactions in the used car segment is still very low because the rates offered by banks are not in line with projected inflation going forward.
This is one of the main differences with the 0 km car market, where car manufacturers offer attractive financing options at 0% interest rates and payback periods of up to 24 months.
Stable prices are one of the keys, although industry sources still warn of unfavorable rates for financed transactions.
Regarding the operations map, the Chamber highlighted the continued growth in the interior of the country, led by five northern provinces: Formosa (58.45%), La Rioja (53.56%), Catamarca (51.99%), Chaco (51.16%) and Jujuy (49.83%).
The opposite was true for the province of Buenos Aires (up 20% compared to 2024) and the city of Buenos Aires (up 13%), two markets that for many years handled 50% of transactions. Even so, with 345,730 and 83,493 transfers respectively, they continue to occupy first and third place in the ranking (in second place is Córdoba, with 110,112).
The most sought-after second-hand model was once again the Volkswagen Gol , which achieved 7,726 sales, remaining at the top as it has done for more than a decade.
According to the CCA's monthly indicative price list, the Volkswagen model was one of the many that saw a price increase in July .
