Pro One launches the electric Cargo Vox to maintain its leadership in the commercial vehicle market.

Pro One launches the electric Cargo Vox to maintain its leadership in the commercial vehicle market.

Stellantis's crown jewel is Pro One, the commercial vehicle division, which holds 30.3% (in Spain it is 38%) of the segment's market share in Europe and 21% in the Middle East and North Africa.

A success based on its complete range of models and engines, as highlighted by Anne Abboud, head of the Stellantis Pro One division, during the meeting she held with the European media at the Atessa factory (Italy) to mark the start of production of the Cargo Box BEV, the 100% electric light commercial vehicle with the greatest capacity.

The challenge, when they are leaders in Europe and among the top three in other global markets, is to maintain their position and continue growing, and the key to achieving this is to continue adapting to market demands.

In this new phase, the Atessa plant, the largest European factory dedicated exclusively to the production of large vans, has just reached another milestone: the start of production of the new range of 100% electric (BEV) models for the recreational vehicle segment, further enriching the already extensive offering aimed at conversion and bodybuilding companies as part of the CustomFit program.

In this enhancement to the Stellantis large van range (Citroën, FIAT Professional, Opel, PEUGEOT, and Vauxhall), the 22 kW charging option is now available. This new version allows a full charge in just 6 hours, halving the charging time compared to the standard 11 kW solution.

As the largest BEV light commercial vehicle, the Cargo Box offers a cargo capacity of 18.3 m³ complemented by an interior measuring 4,230 m in length, 2,032 m in width, and 2.15 m in height. It is manufactured in a battery-electric chassis cab version that delivers 410 Nm of maximum torque and 200 kW (270 hp) of power, combined with a 110 kWh battery, providing a range of up to 323 km. Additionally, for customers requiring more cargo space, it will also be available in the L4 configuration, which expands the cargo volume to 20.5 m³ with an interior length of 4.5 m and a height of 2,300 m.

The Atessa plant, inaugurated in 1981 and with more than 7.5 million units produced to date, is one of Stellantis' flagship plants for its constant innovation and the development of customized equipment (Stellantis CustomFit), which represents around 50% of production based on customer specifications.

The Atessa plant, with over 1,200,000 square meters of surface area, is not only the largest factory in Europe dedicated exclusively to light commercial vehicles, but also a global benchmark, with 80% of production destined for export to 75 countries around the world.

With a 15-km assembly line, the largest body shop in the Stellantis galaxy, and a paint shop that is constantly updated to meet the latest energy and environmental sustainability criteria, Atessa can manage more than 1,200 different configurations, from caravan bases to body-on vehicles, including those intended for freight transport. With 14 engines, four transmission types, more than 300 options, and eight van volumes, the plant constitutes a complete production ecosystem capable of offering more than 2,500 different versions.

Stellantis CustomFit is a dynamic transformation and customization program that integrates base vehicle features with specific modifications requested by the customer. By performing these modifications directly in-house, the program guarantees the highest standards of quality, safety, and delivery times.

These factory-built conversions can be completed and integrated with solutions developed in collaboration with a global network of more than 550 certified partners. This opportunity further expands a growing product range, from dump trucks to cargo-optimized vans, specifically designed to meet the needs of self-employed individuals, small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), and large fleets.

Within the Stellantis CustomFit program, conversions of recreational vehicles (campers and motorhomes) also play an important role. This is a rapidly growing sector in which the Stellantis Pro One range has been a European leader for years, with a market share exceeding 50%. In particular, the Fiat Professional Ducato stands out as the absolute market leader, where it has garnered numerous recognitions and awards. And as of today, it is also available with a 100% electric drive.

According to Anne Abboud, "The launch of the Cargo Box BEV confirms this plant's track record of excellence, dedicated to proactively and quickly meeting the needs of our professional customers based on the principles of efficiency, maximum quality, and rapid delivery. The Stellantis Pro One offering is unparalleled in terms of range breadth and flexibility."

Another area of special interest to Stellantis CustomFit is camper conversions for the caravan and motorhome (RV) sector, where Stellantis Pro One is once again the undisputed market leader, operating since 2006 and always at the forefront of innovation. Proof of this is the "BacktoBack" system that connects two independent driver's cabins so they can travel as a single vehicle, with clear efficiencies in terms of costs, logistical footprint, and the environment.

Stellantis Pro One has sold more than 2 million campervans in the last 20 years, and 75% of the vehicle fleet in circulation in this segment is built on a Ducato base. It's no coincidence that for 17 consecutive years, the Ducato has been recognized as the best campervan base by the German magazine Promobil, an authority on the subject.
