Norris and Hamilton dominate free practice for the British GP

Silverstone was painted with British pride this Friday, July 4, after local drivers Lando Norris in his McLaren and Lewis Hamilton of Ferrari placed themselves as the fastest during the first day of activities of the 2025 British Grand Prix.
The day began with the first free practice session (P1), in which seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton used his experience and knowledge of the track to set the best time, exciting the fans who filled the stands early.
In the second free practice (P2), the lead role changed hands, but remained at home. Andro Norris, in his McLaren, was the fastest after an intense session in which the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton also shone. The Ferrari driver led the standings for much of the session, but was overtaken by Norris in the final minutes, while Hamilton finished third.

The day also had other highlights: Nico Hülkenberg and Yuki Tsunoda retook their cars after having ceded their places in P1 to youngsters Paul Aron and Arvid Lindblad, respectively. Liam Lawson also provided the most interesting highlight of the day by angrily complaining about on-track traffic during his first stint in P2, hurling insults over the radio.
With rain forecast for Saturday, the third free practice session (FP3) and qualifying session could be held in mixed conditions, adding excitement to a weekend that already has a British flavor. Silverstone promises a spectacular show, with two locals dreaming of the top spot, and where the rise of another Englishman, George Russell, who is looking to continue his starring role in this Formula 1 season, cannot be ruled out.
