MG HS PHEV: the plug-in hybrid with a range of over 100 kilometers

The new MG HS PHEV was one of the highlights of Automobile Barcelona. It is the first plug-in hybrid in its segment with a certified electric range of over 100 kilometers, which qualifies it for subsidies under the MOVES III Plan for 100% electric vehicles (up to €7,000).

With this high electric range and low power consumption, you can make all your daily journeys in electric mode with low energy costs. And if the battery runs out, fuel consumption is also very low (5.8 l/100 km in hybrid mode).

Furthermore, its spaciousness, trunk capacity, versatility of use, and high combined range (1,000 kilometers) make it the sole vehicle for most Spanish households.

The new MG HS PHEV inaugurates a new generation of plug-in hybrid propulsion systems from the Chinese brand. MG uses an efficient 1.5-liter turbo engine with high performance (105 kW, 142 hp, and 230 Nm); a powerful electric motor (135 kW, 183 hp, and 340 Nm), a capable ISG generator (110 kW, 150 hp), one of the largest-capacity batteries in the segment (21.4 kWh), and a lightweight two-speed gearbox. Thanks to this, it combines maximum efficiency with extraordinary dynamism and achieves high performance: a top speed of 200 km/h and a 0-100 km/h time of 6.8 seconds. The MG HS PHEV offers a great feeling of thrust and offers series or parallel hybrid driving modes. In all three cases, the dynamic powertrains are combined with a well-developed platform, which conveys agile and intuitive handling.

Its distinctive exterior design envelops a cabin that reaffirms MG's "Premium for everyone" commitment, with more technology, space, comfort, and design. High-quality materials create a more welcoming and relaxing environment, and the elegant dashboard is dominated by two large 12.3-inch screens.

The new MG HS is also one of the most advanced cars in terms of safety. Euro NCAP has awarded five stars to all versions of the HS range, which offer the same standard safety equipment and 16 driver assistance systems integrated into the MG Pilot package. The MG HS achieved high ratings in all categories and particularly excelled in child crash protection, where it obtained the highest score.

Comfort versions include automatic LED headlights with follow-me-home function, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, electrically adjustable and heated rearview mirrors, electrically adjustable front seats, air conditioning, a hands-free key, a rain sensor, cruise control, and an electric parking brake with auto-hold function.
