Isdera , one of the world's most well-known sports car brands, has been forced to close its doors and file for bankruptcy at the District Court in Saarbrücken, Germany. As Money reported, the company's demise has been a severe blow to its most loyal customers.

Despite the high price of its models, sometimes reaching €400,000, Isdera was a trendsetter in several countries on the Old Continent, and its models were highly sought after by motor enthusiasts . However, recent months have been a financial catastrophe , and the company has had to file for bankruptcy before a judge, resulting in the dismissal of every single one of its employees.

The German company revolutionized the market once again in 2018 with one of its most amazing models: the Commendatore GT , which was inspired by one of its most classic and oldest models and was also 100% electric . However, at that time, the company had already been sold to the Sinfonía Automotive AG group in an attempt to revive the brand with Chinese investors.

However, despite a large investment and the opening of a new factory on the Asian continent, the Commendatore GT was not a sales success , and therefore the accounts were not in balance for the new investors, who had to declare bankruptcy permanently.

The Isdera brand was founded by Eberard Schulz in 1982 and has always maintained a very specific philosophy: each car must be treated individually and with special care. Said and done , its employees managed to maintain the essence and, over the years, have distinguished themselves with new designs, such as periscope mirrors, state-of-the-art engines, and gull-wing doors , among others.

When did Isdera start selling its models? Well, a year after its founding , in 1983, its first model, the Spyder 036i, was already on the market. From then on, 12 months later, Isdera 's second creation was the Imperator 108i, one of its most significant jewels.

It wouldn't be until nine years later, in 1993, that the German company returned to the fray with the Commendatore 112i, a model that, curiously, featured a 620- horsepower , 12-cylinder Mercedes engine.
