WRC 2025: Sebastien Ogier confirms start at the Acropolis Rally

WRC 2025: Sebastien Ogier confirms start at the Acropolis Rally

(Motorsport-Total.com) - Sebastien Ogier will also compete in the Acropolis Rally in Greece (June 26-29), the seventh round of the 2025 World Rally Championship (WRC), thus completing three consecutive WRC rallies. The Frenchman is on the official Rally1 entry list, which includes a total of twelve cars.

Sebastien Ogier will also drive in Greece Zoom

For Ogier, this will be the fifth round of another part-time WRC season, following his outings in Monte Carlo, Croatia, Portugal, and the upcoming race in Sardinia. The Toyota factory driver will compete in Greece alongside his teammates Elfyn Evans (World Championship leader), Kalle Rovanperä, Takamoto Katsuta, and youngster Sami Pajari.

Hyundai will field three i20 N Rally1s for Thierry Neuville, Ott Tänak, and Adrien Fourmaux. M-Sport Ford will field four Ford Pumas, including private drivers Jourdan Serderidis, Gregoire Munster, Josh McErlean, and Martins Sesks.

The field of participants in the WRC2 category is also strong: 34 vehicles have been registered, including the top 3 of the current championship: Yohan Rossel, Oliver Solberg and Gus Greensmith.

Following his victory in Portugal, Ogier travels to the next gravel rally in Sardinia, where he has already won four times, as third in the drivers' standings. Last year, he narrowly missed another triumph there, losing to Tänak by a mere 0.2 seconds.

"The victory in Portugal is good motivation to continue working hard with the team, especially during this intense period with many rallies," said Ogier. "Sardinia was very difficult for me at first, but I eventually mastered it. This year will be particularly challenging because our three drivers are at the top of the standings, so we have to sweep the roads for the others on Friday. But I fondly remember our 2021 victory, where I had to be the first out on the track—anything is possible on this rally."
