MotoGP - Maverick Vinales injured! No MotoGP start in Sachsenring sprint

Maverick Vinales fell victim to the difficult conditions during MotoGP qualifying at the Sachsenring, suffering a dislocated shoulder in his crash.

Q2 for the German MotoGP Grand Prix at the Sachsenring was an extremely short one for Maverick Vinales . In heavy rain, the Tech3 rider, who had previously advanced through Q1, only managed to complete a little more than three corners. On the approach to Turn 4, he lost control of his KTM , highsided, and hit the asphalt hard.
Maverick Vinales injured: shoulder dislocationVinales immediately went to the medical center at the track, from where he was taken directly to the nearby hospital in Chemnitz. Examination there revealed that Vinales had not suffered any fractures, but had dislocated his left shoulder.
The Spaniard will therefore have to miss the sprint on Saturday afternoon. Vinales will most likely also skip the warm-up on Sunday morning. Further checks will then determine whether he is fit for the Grand Prix at 2 p.m.
Maverick Vinales: Start on Sunday?Vinales would start the German Grand Prix from twelfth place on the grid, as he was unable to record a timed lap due to his crash in Q2.
For Vinales, the shoulder dislocation represents a setback in what was actually a good period for him. Most recently at Assen, he scored a total of 15 points in the Sprint and Grand Prix races. Only in Jerez and Le Mans has the KTM rookie performed better this season.
