Jakob Rosenthaler returns to the Moto3 World Championship. The Austrian has clearly already made a name for himself as a reserve rider in the paddock, as he will be competing at Le Mans with his third team in his fourth outing.

Next team: Rosenthaler becomes a Wandervogel

This time, it's the BOE Motorsports team that needed a replacement for the unfortunately injured rookie Ruche Moodley. Rosenthaler previously competed for Aspar (Thailand and Argentina) and MLav (Austin). BOE will compete with KTMs, which he had already experienced at Aspar.

The 19-year-old has another rookie as his new teammate, New Zealander Cormarc Buchanan. Buchanan has already scored points three times, something Rosenthaler has narrowly eluded so far. In Thailand, he was knocked off the track on the last lap on his way to victory . Things should improve now.

Moodley's return unclear: Further appearances for Rosenthaler possible?

"I'm very happy to be given another chance in the Moto3 World Championship. I'll be working with a new team again, but with the KTM, which I know well. Furthermore, it's my first race in Europe in the 2025 season, which means I already know the track from the Rookies Cup. I'm motivated and looking forward to the weekend. But first, my thanks to the BOE team for choosing me for this challenge. And of course, I wish Ruche a speedy recovery," Rosenthaler said before his next appearance.

Whether there will be any further appearances for BOE remains to be seen. Moodley was hit so hard in a collision at the start in Jerez that he broke the radius in his right arm. The teenager has already undergone surgery with MotoGP expert Dr. Xavier Mir in Barcelona, but the timing of his return is unclear. Rosenthaler will, however, contest at least one more motorcycle race. He has also been signed as a reserve rider in the Supersport 300 World Championship, which is part of the Superbike World Championship .
