Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S Final Edition: Last hurrah for the mega four-cylinder

Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S Final Edition: Last hurrah for the mega four-cylinder

The new Mercedes CLA made its grand debut a good three and a half months ago. The ultimate hope for the electric car industry will soon be launched with a range of up to 750 kilometers, and for the first time, an AMG variant of the CLA will also be fully electric . If that's not something you're looking for, you should prick up your ears now, because Affalterbach is releasing another special edition of the current CLA 45 S.

As you know, this has absolutely nothing to do with silent or emission-free driving. Instead, it still has the world's most powerful production four-cylinder engine under its hood (it launched in August 2019). And of course, this also applies to the new—take a deep breath—Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S 4Matic + "Final Edition." The brutish M139 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine produces 421 hp and 500 Nm of torque, as always, accelerating both the sedan and the shooting brake from 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and reaching an electronically limited top speed of 270 km/h.

The "Final Edition" is available in Manufaktur Mountain Grey Magno and Night Black Uni. The final AMG CLA with a combustion engine also comes with a "45 S" logo in black or yellow applied to the doors. A yellow AMG logo is applied to the exterior mirror caps.

The "Final Edition" rides on matte black 19-inch AMG cross-spoke forged wheels with yellow rim flanges. The wheel hub caps feature a yellow AMG logo combined with laurel wreath elements. The brake calipers are painted gloss black and feature white AMG logos. Another stylish detail: the fuel cap in silver chrome with "AMG" lettering and black design elements.

The good old AMG Night package adds high-gloss black exterior mirror housings and trim strips. Added to that are dark chrome tailpipe trim. AMG experts know: There's not just one, but two Night packages. Night Package II adds black chrome to the radiator grille struts and the model nameplates.

The AMG Aerodynamics package, which includes a front apron with an enlarged front splitter and additional flics, an enlarged spoiler lip on the trunk lid (sedan) or a roof spoiler (shooting brake), side airflow separation edges around the rear apron air outlets, and a diffuser blade, is also available for an additional charge on the "Final Edition." All parts are finished in high-gloss black.

Inside the CLA 45, the "Final Edition" features performance seats in a combination of black man-made leather and microfiber, as well as yellow decorative stitching on the seats, door panels, and instrument panel. This configuration also includes the performance steering wheel. There are also embroidered "45S" emblems in the front headrests and a "45 S Final Edition" emblem on the center console. The AMG door sills with illuminated yellow AMG logo also demonstrate attention to detail. AMG floor mats with "45 S" lettering and yellow decorative stitching complete the interior upgrades.

The final special model can be ordered now. Deliveries will be made upon receipt of orders, concluding at the end of 2025. Mercedes-AMG has not yet commented on pricing. However, it will definitely be more expensive than the €81,152 minimum price for the standard CLA 45 S.
